Coleman Health Services is excited to announce an upcoming QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Training at the Akron Public Library Main Branch in downtown Akron, demonstrating its commitment to fostering a community of support and suicide prevention. This vital training initiative equips participants with the tools to recognize warning signs of suicide, initiate compassionate conversations, and guide individuals toward help.
QPR Training, a nationally recognized suicide prevention program, empowers community members to be proactive “gatekeepers” in identifying and responding to individuals in crisis. Facilitated by a certified trainer, the session will provide practical insights and strategies for effective intervention, emphasizing the importance of open communication surrounding mental health.
The QPR Training at the Akron Public Library is open to the public, and Coleman Health Services encourages participants from all walks of life to join in this important initiative.
