Preparations for the milestone 30th annual Right at Home benefit supporting Coleman Professional Services are being completed by a committee of community volunteers. The event raises funds and awareness for the Coleman mission of improving the lives of people they serve, regardless of their ability to pay.
This signature event will be held Sept. 15 at the Aurora home of Matt and Wendy French. The event also celebrates Jance and Thomas Hatch, hosts of the first Right at Home 30 years ago.
The Right at Home events — which have raised more than $1 million for Coleman Professional services — were first suggested by Jance Lentz-Hatch, a Kent artist who served as an original member of the Kevin Coleman Foundation Board. Jance passed away on July 12, just a week after her 77th birthday. As an artist, she was best known for her Impressionistic landscapes, which she exhibited in Kent, Cleveland, Columbus, Washington, Maui, New York, Paris and elsewhere.
At this year’s Right at Home, there will be a showing of selected works by Jance to honor her artistic talent and her commitment to the community.
More Highlights of This Year’s Event
Right at Home features an Art Auction with artwork by local artists in various media: wall art, paintings, pastels, jewelry, woodwork, art glass and more. There will also be a Not-So-Ordinary Silent Auction with popular packages from the past and new and unique items and experiences. The Wall of Wine is back by popular demand. Choose red or white and a chance to win a rare $100 bottle of each, donated by Coleman supporters.
Sponsors of the 2018 Right at Home are Allen Aircraft Products, Inc., Medical Mutual, University Hospitals Portage Medical Center, The Fowler Family, Ametek, Don Joseph Toyota, Sherwin-Williams Company and more. For a complete list of sponsors, including those at the Museum and Gallery level, visit the Right at Home page on the Coleman website (www.colemanservices.org).
This year’s volunteer committee includes Fran Goté, Sandra Graham, Patty and Jay Falls, Stephanie Soduk Fowler, Wendy French, Sherry Joy, Cass Mayfield, Bob Mayfield, Dave Petrone, Jane Preston Rose and Tammy Rynearson.
