Coleman Professional Services Acquires Turning Point

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (November 30, 2017)   Coleman Professional Services purchased the assets of Turning Point Counseling Services in Youngstown.  The purchase will be effective on January 2, 2018. Turning Point’s Board of Directors issued a statewide Request for Proposal for the management and future of the agency earlier this year.  Coleman’s proposal was selected from the eleven agencies that applied.  Coleman has been providing management services for Turning Point since early summer and has completed the necessary due diligence since then.

Coleman’s President and CEO, Nelson Burns, said, “We look forward to serving Mahoning County residents and providing quality mental health and addiction services.  Coleman’s goal is to deliver immediate access to services and prides itself on using best practices in order to serve customers with mental health and addiction challenges.” Burns, who began his career in behavioral health and rehabilitation programs in 1979 at the Doris Burdman home in Youngstown, also said, “Mahoning County is a great community with wonderful memories; I look forward to working there again and  improving on the excellent quality of behavioral health services.”

“Customers are our focus,” said Tammy Weaver, Coleman Vice President and Chief Officer for Mahoning and Trumbull Counties.  “We know the importance of consistent, quality care and will continue to provide that for Mahoning County customers.  We will send letters to all current Turning Point customers, explaining that the transition will be as seamless as possible for them.  I want to stress that the doors will be open as they always have been.  I look forward to better understanding the needs and concerns of Mahoning County residents and to tailor our services to meet those needs.”

Coleman will be hosting a career fair in Mahoning County to those who would like to learn about job opportunities at Coleman.  It will be held from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at the Holiday Inn – Boardman located at 7410 South Avenue.  Coleman is seeking professionals, such as prescribers, case managers, social workers, counselors, therapists, emergency specialists, prescreeners, nurses and administrative staff to work with its growing organization to serve customers in need in Mahoning County.  Coleman has been transparent with current Turning Point employees who can apply for jobs at Coleman.  You can learn more and apply at www.colemanservices.org/join-our-team.
