Coleman Health Services recently hosted its 38th Annual Benefit, Changing Destinies, bringing together community members, corporate partners, and dedicated advocates for a hope-filled evening. The event highlighted our ongoing mission to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies across Ohio through comprehensive behavioral health support services and community programs.
The Mission Moment: Raise the Paddle for Our Ohio Employment Service
Each year, Changing Destinies shines a spotlight on a vital service area where donor generosity creates immediate impact. This year’s Raise the Paddle initiative was dedicated to our Employment Services.
Securing meaningful employment is a crucial pillar of recovery for individuals facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or other systemic barriers. Beyond providing a paycheck, a job provides purpose, confidence, structure, and social connection.
As a trusted provider of specialized Ohio employment service programs, Coleman’s specialists meet job seekers where they are. They help individuals build resumes, prepare for interviews, navigate benefits, and receive ongoing coaching. While clinical care stabilizes and housing provides security, employment turns personal progress into lasting independence.

The Impact: $186,000 Raised for Local Ohio Communities
Every dollar raised at Changing Destinies directly funds local care and grant opportunities. This year, thanks to our community's extraordinary generosity, we raised $186,000!
Honoring Our 2026 Award Recipients
Since 1978, Coleman has served hundreds of thousands of individuals. That impact is driven by champions who invest their time, talent, and treasure into our mission. This year, we honored two exceptional supporters:
- Tamara and Richard Rynearson: Tammy and Dick are longtime champions of Coleman. Tammy has served for years as a Board Trustee, Foundation Board member, fundraiser, and key member of the Changing Destinies and Personal Assistance Grants committees. Together, they have contributed more than $112,000 to Coleman alongside a generous legacy gift. Dick’s advocacy through the Ohio Psychological Association further reflects their shared dedication.
- +Detail: +Detail is a Cleveland-based, women-owned architecture and interior design firm specializing in behavioral health environments. They have partnered with Coleman on crisis projects in Warren, Ravenna, Canton, and St. Clairsville, as well as housing in Marion. Architects David Potts and Justin Gleason have led trauma-informed design initiatives for Coleman, backed by over $15,000 in firm contributions.
