Akron Man Gives Back

Feb 1, 2018 | News

On January 29th, 2018, employees of Coleman Data Solutions in Akron gathered to thank Bob Powell for his generous gift. Powell, of Akron, OH, recently gave Coleman Professional Services $10,000 for an endowment to benefit the employees of Coleman Data Solutions.

Bob was an employee for 6 years at SAGE Computer Services, now Coleman Data Solutions.  Coleman Data Solutions offers personalized document solutions to increase the efficiency of information lifecycle management, while fostering positive community engagement through every customer relationship.  Data Solutions is an enterprise of Coleman Professional Services which generates revenue that helps fund behavioral health and addiction services provided by Coleman Professional Services. Seventy-five percent of Coleman Data Solutions’ employees live with a disability – either mental or physical.  By offering these community members  training, education and work opportunities, they earn a living and eliminate their dependence on entitlements.

The endowment supports Coleman Data Solutions employees who are experiencing financial hardships and need assistance with their basic needs.

Nelson Burns, Coleman Professional Service President and CEO said, ““Bob has always advocated for persons with disabilities. It is such a pleasure and delight that we now can celebrate his true generosity to those people he worked with at Data Solutions.”

When asked what led him to this important gift, Powell said “I’m committed to helping Coleman.” Powell’s gift is extraordinarily special due to his employment at Sage and continuous involvement with Coleman.

Bob has been a historic member of the community and was featured in Who’s Who in America, the 1998-2004 editions for his work with SAGE.

Coleman is truly touched by Bob’s initiative and is genuinely grateful for such a thoughtful and everlasting gift.
