How much will enrollment cost?
Applying for Medicaid Managed care is always free and there are no monthly premiums.
How does a managed care plan work?
In Ohio, those on Medicaid must join a managed care plan to receive health care. Managed care plans are offered through the state of Ohio and provided through health insurance companies paid by the state to provide health care services to people who qualify.
What medical services are included?
Mandatory benefits that are required by the federal government. They include:

  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital services

Can I keep my own doctor if I enroll or switch plans?
Each managed care plan has a list of doctors and providers covered their plan. So, you’ll need to make sure your doctors are within the network of the plan you choose. Look for a list of providers on the managed care plan’s website or call the managed care plan’s customer service and ask. If your doctor isn’t in network, you can always ask the managed care plan whether your doctor can be added to the network.
