The Judge Barbara R. Watson and Dr. Walter Watson Endowment Coleman Professional Services is honored to be the recipient of a $25,000 lasting gift donated by Judge Barbara Watson, which created an endowment to support individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders who can’t afford to pay for recovery services. Bee Moorhead and Brigid Watson joined their mother in presenting the gift to Nelson Burns, President and CEO of Coleman Professional Services on Friday, October 20th at the Watson home in Kent. The family has challenged Coleman to raise matching funds in honor and memory of Judge Barbara R. Watson and Dr. Walter Watson to further support Coleman clients who lack the financial resources to afford recovery treatment for a mental illness or addiction. Bee Moorhead noted that, “We are very excited as a family to present this gift. It’s a special tribute to our parents who brought a passion for helping others in the community we love.” It is Coleman’s intent to raise and match at least another $25,000 in order to generate a $2,500 annual gift to support those who need mental health and/or addiction services. Matching donations can be sent to Coleman Professional Services (501-c3 non-profit organization) and designated to the Judge Barbara R. Watson and Dr. Walter Watson Endowment. All donations will, in-turn, be sent to the Portage Foundation, Inc. who will be custodians of this gift. For further information, contact Coleman Professional Services, 5982 Rhodes Road, Kent, OH.
