Position Description

The Activities Coordinator will organize events for individuals coming into the drop-in center and residence living at the Beacon House.  The responsibilities for this customer-service oriented position will include; speaking with a variety of individuals and groups; listening to needs they may have and guiding them to resources; encourages guests and/or clients to attend or join an activity.  The Activities Coordinator must be able to fix situations quickly, or adjust activities for all involved. 

 Also, needs to be able to speak clearly and passionately to guests, answer questions and keep people motivated.  In addition, supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, resident’s families, visitors, and staff.  Must have a high school diploma or GED, one year of related experience, telephone reception experience, and Microsoft Word experience.  Ability to maintain confidentiality and stay calm during crisis situations.
