Right at Home

The Coleman Foundation’s 26th Annual Right at Home benefit raised more than $71,000 to further the mission of supporting children, families, and older adults who are facing mental health and rehabilitation challenges in our community.

President Jay A. Gershen of Northeast Ohio Medical University welcomed 250 Right at Home guests to the newly built student homes, The Village at NEOMED, for a beautiful evening in Portage County. Guests perused the art auction as well as the silent auction items that were generously donated. The silent auctions raised over $15,000 alone.

  

Artists

Local artists donated over 30 pieces of art in various mediums: Ben Bassham, Wayne Luke, Don Drumm, Robert Crombie, Janet Varner, Kate Murgatroyd, Robert Goldthwaite, Nancy Oldham Seibert, Chris Dzeda, John Akamatsu, Tom Jacoby, Jance Lentz Hatch, Vijay Rostogi, Deborah Carl, Fredrick John Kluth, Wally Unsold, Elizabeth Curtis, Gretchen Bierbaum, Stuart Pruitt, Robert Kirkpatrick, Jennifer Eddy, Joel Walker, Russ O’Brien, and Totally Tuesdays.

Once again this year, guests could purchase a mystery bottle of wine from the Wall of Wine, which included 2 $100 bottles of wine donated by Dr. Richard and Tamara Rynearson and Jeff Fowler.

Art Auction 2014

The auction packages included a little something for everyone. Hotel stays were donated by The Sheraton in Cuyahoga Falls, The Kent State Hotel and Conference Center, and the InterContinental Hotels Cleveland. Walt Disney World tickets were a crowd favorite, as well as the 1 week stay at a Lake Placid condo, which sold TWICE! Rush by Dino Palmieri, The Burbick Companies, Sydmor’s Jewelers, Davey Tree, Riverside Wine and Imports, and Don Joseph Toyota Scion were among the local companies whose generous donations helped to increase the amount of money raised.

In appreciate for his hospitality, Nelson Burns, President and CEO of Coleman Professional Services, presented a donation to the NEOMED Foundation in honor of President Jay A. Gershen. 

Coleman Foundation would like to express gratitude for the support of Masterpiece Sponsor-McKay Bricker Gallery and Framing. Other sponsors included Allen Aircraft Products, Inc., The Burbick Companies, The Fowler Family, Northeast Ohio Medical University, QoL Meds, The Sherwin Williams Company and many more. The delicious and delightful food and drinks were provided by the catering services of Northeast Ohio Medical University. Musical entertainment was provided by the folk musicians of Mountain Therapy from Canfield, Ohio.

The Coleman Foundation hosts Right at Home in an effort to raise community awareness of and support for important mental health issues. The Coleman Foundation is a philanthropic organization designed to support children, families and older adults who are facing mental health and rehabilitation challenges. The Foundation supports Coleman Professional Services and other organizations that provide excellence in advocacy, leadership and education in mental health and rehabilitation services.
