7th Annual Dessert Extravaganza a Success The Kids 4 Coleman hosted their seventh annual Dessert Extravaganza to benefit Coleman Adult Day Services. This year, the event was held at the Coleman Adult Day Services facility in Ravenna. The "Spooktacular" themed event featured the haunted hallways of Coleman Adult Day, where costumed children went trick-or-treating and enjoyed a costume parade. More than 160 guests were welcomed at the facility as the Kids 4 Coleman raised more than $9,800 to further Coleman's mission of supporting families and older adults in the community who are facing the challenges of their elderly loved ones. To date the K4C have raised more than $62,500. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a silent auction consisting of Disney World Park Hopper tickets, Southwest Airline tickets, 4 Cats Art Studio Party, RUSH Dino Palmieri gift basket, Disney On Ice tickets, Riverside Wines gift cards, Sydmor's Jewelry, Medical Arts Pharmacy gift baskets, and many other donated items and gift cards. A 50/50 raffle was included. New this year was a Grab'n'Go table. Guests were invited to purchase a gift card, valued for more than participants paid. Guests enjoyed music provided by Marge Pagan, accompanied by the vocals of Barbara Walter. Guests also had the chance to enjoy foods and desserts donated by local restaurants and friends: Guido's of Ravenna, Great Harvest of Stow, Mobile Foods, Olive Garden and Zeppe's of Stow, among others. Handel's of Stow arrived with an ice cream "pops" cart and Beckwith Farms provided apples. Photographer and family friend Jerry Leep captured all of the fun and festivities on camera for the K4C. The Kids 4 Coleman would like to express their gratitude for the support of their sponsors: Atlas Rehab & Wellness Center, The Gables of KentRidge, Interim Health Care, Anna Maria of Aurora, Bennet Land Title, A/C Area Agency, Geopfert Company, Gordon Food Service, Kent Healthcare, Miller Garage Door, the Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority, Tom and Jan Bowen and Dean and Mary Corpas. The Kids 4 Coleman host the Dessert Extravaganza in an effort to raise community awareness of the services Coleman Adult Day has to offer. They hosted the event at the Coleman Adult Day Center this year in order to showcase the facility and its staff. Master of ceremonies Tom Stephan kept the afternoon spirited and fun. Nelson Burns, president and chief executive officer of Coleman Professional Services, welcomed the guests. Two of the Kids 4 Coleman, Stephen Spalding and Regina Reilly, thanked Coleman Adult Day for the services they provided for their grandparents, Steve and Rosemarie Mandalari.
